New Staff and Halloween

Hello everyone. I am pleased to say that we now have two new members of staff. Both are here as carers and have worked in other care homes for a few years already. Of course, they will go through our induction and training programme before they start to work fully alone, but they are getting on well with everyone already!

We are planning to have a halloween party at the end of October. If you have any fancy dress items we can use, they will be welcomed.

The inspectors have been

Hello everyone.

The inspectors made a surprise visit to us last week, on the same day that the children’s choir were coming, what a busy day that turned out to be!

I am pleased to say thay all seemed to go very well, but we don’t get the full results until they have completed all of their inspections of other homes. I will post the results just as soon as I have got them.

Many of the residents are knitting blankets for Pakistan. If anyone has spare wool or knitting needles, we can put them to good use!

My name is Gwen and it’s my turn to tell you about what we have been up to here recently.

The children from the local school came to sing to us this week. They were practising for a competition they have entered. They were very good.

We have started a knitting group to make blankets for those poor people in Pakistan who have been affected by the floods. One of our carer’s here is from Pakistan and she is very worried.

Hello everyone. My name is Jean and I have been elected to tell you about some of the things we have done this week. I have never been on a computer before so this is all very exciting.

Our activities co-ordinator Mandy got a lot of new equipment this week so we have been playing all sorts of games and activities.

We are very pleased to have a new bingo machine as this is a big favourite with us all. I am looking forward to the children’s choir who will be coming to sing for us tomorrow.

Hello from Sunny View!

We are having a wonderful time here at Sunny View. Last week some of us went to Skegness and were taken along the sea front. We had a fish and chip supper and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

The people who didn’t go on the trip weren’t left out. They had a fish and chip supper served in newspaper, just like we used to have when we were kids. It was great!

We are all getting together to decide where our next trip will be.
